Ford Fiesta 1.1 CFi Freestyle 5d (1993/L) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheap car and parts.
Costs
Gone through far too many parts, but that's because the garage damaged no end of electrical parts when rebuilding the engine (caused no end of problems). None were ever serious.

On the road
Driving
Understeer! Don't fit cheap tyres. Fit Pirellis. Makes a huge difference.
Performance
Way too slow. You can tolerate it if you are the only person in the car.

Living with it
Reliability
I can't help but feel the Garage L&S of Awesworth have caused all my troubles with their shoddy workmanship. No end of electrical glitches, damaged wiring by monkey mechanics. Change oil 4000miles.
Image
Nice if they have oversized or body coloured bumpers, but plain and one of many otherwise.
Comfort
Good for up to 2hrs, but not enough lumber support really.

Security and Service
Security
Ha ha, I could steal yours in under 20 secs. Knowing how I fitted a Disclok steering lock, it'll beat just about any attempt to steal it. Connect a hidden switch to the fuel pump.
Service
Depends on the person, but they can always get the parts for you. Very handy for odd parts like ball joint pinch bolts and so forth.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Burnt oil, so put it in for a complete rebuild. Cam has been noisy ever since. Noisy anyway.
Other
Suspension has been perfect. Brake disc and pads warp and aren't effective enough.
