Ford Fiesta 1.1 Classic 3d (1995/N) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Nothing exceptional. No PAS, no ABS, no rear wiper\washer, no cigarette lighter (?), very much budget. Does have driver's airbag though :)
Costs
Cheap parts from motor factors (Halfords etc), main dealer is dear, easy to work on, very little work needed, may need rust treatment on older models, drinks the oil.

On the road
Driving
Heavy steering, weak brakes, thirsty on petrol, fairly quiet on lower mileage, 1.1 sluggish.
Performance
Sluggish, heavy steering, slow to pull away. Really lacks power, pulls well in lower gears though.

Living with it
Reliability
Never had a problem. Auto choke, starts everytime, never broken down, frequent oil topups are required though, very thirsty on oil.
Image
Stylish for the younger driver although rust is a big problem on fords. Very smart if under 20 :)
Comfort
Very comfy on the classic, lovely seats, heating/cooling although not aircon is very nice. Steering wheel not adjustable and so is a little high for smaller drivers.

Security and Service
Security
Insurance approved immobiliser as standard. Fit a steering lock and maybe a flashing LED and no one will look at it twice.
Service
Labour charges astronomical, they know what they are talking about though, which is always comforting. Although not resprayed they couldn't explain why my body colour is different to that detailed on the VIN plate. Hardly reassuring.
