Ford Fiesta 1.3 CFi Freestyle II 3d (1994/M) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Good first car, decent spec models out there, but dont just run to the electric windows and central locking ones which are cheap, go for things like air bags, better tyres and service history as shows a good record of maintenance
Costs
Very economical, gets about 40mpg, which isn't bad for an old car, also parts are all very cheap and most can be DIY fitted.

On the road
Driving
Good overall driving, handling not superb, but good for a first car. Also able to take a lot of punishment and stay on the road.
Performance
OK performance with a 5 speed model, 4 speed lacks a bit of top end speed which can be accessed but takes time. Acceleration is good, but don't try and wheel spin or do anything involving a handbrake as on fiesta's it breaks shock absorbers and tracking.

Living with it
Reliability
never had a problem which i couldnt fix [as a no brainer when it comes to cars] or that stopped me getting home and gettin a garage to do it, so very reliable.
Image
not all that pimped up looking, but are things to make it look better, things like body kits, the standard ford RS stuff, just fits straight on so can kit the car up with things like that.
Comfort
Good comfort for it's age and price, all seats are relatively comfortable and take good punishment. Doesn't look aged like a Corsa or Saxo does.

Security and Service
Security
Not all that secure, but not all that desirable a car until speakers, CD players and amps go in, then get an alarm.
Service
Rated it medium, but have never dealt with ford mainly because soooo many people know the insides and outs of these cars.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Tappets need re-adjusting, poor maintenance can lead to tapping and rattles.
Other
Check if the body panels line up and if doors shut properly, if they don't, its accident damage.
