Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia 5d (89) (1992/J) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Hard to rate, it's been a while since I bought it. But I don't regret a single penny.
Costs
Cheap insurance. Reasonably cheap to run.

Driving
I love this car. I'm only considering changing because of its age. If they made the '92 style Fiesta now I'd buy one.
Performance
Very good for urban travel. Also goes well at speed, but can take its time to get there.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems if regularly serviced.
Image
Good in its day, but looking dated now. The name Fiesta describes a 'pokey little runabout' in others (not me!)
Comfort
Ghia extras make the difference. Hard ride, but then I prefer that over the more 'floaty' suspensions.

Security and Service
Security
Central Locking and steering lock, but no immobiliser or alarm.

Problems and Ownership

Engine
Overheating due to thermostat failure.
Other
Rev counter reads high for a while, then settles down to correct reading.
