Ford Fiesta 1.6 S 3d (1992/J) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
For what the car can do, value is smashing.
Costs
To quote a hat-stand, "cheap as chips". Don't dismiss main dealers for parts, though - a phone call could surprise. Top hose from Ford £4, Halfords £10. Likes a drink when pushed.

On the road
Driving
Great in the dry, but watch out for bodyroll and wet handling (it don't).
Performance
Surprises many. Docile at times, but just change down and give it some.
-
Living with it
Reliability
A few niggles, but then look at the age. Never left me stranded.
Image
Everyone has a Fiesta, but not many have an S.
Comfort
A bit firm, but then it is a warm hatch. Done many miles in one hit (the most was 800 !!) without too much trouble. Seats are set a bit high for tall drivers.

Security and Service
Security
None. If you have a plastic spoon, you could steal it. So spend out on at least an alarm and crook lock.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Likes oil, but other than that, no probs easy to work on.
Other
My car has done 107,000 miles and has been serviced at recommended intervals. Cam belt needs changing more often than stated 25-30,000 miles.
