Ford Fiesta 1989
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

You get the electrics, the temperamental central locking, power steering, sunroof and airbag. With colour coded bumpers, it is decent value.

    Costs

    1 out of 5 1.0

The car is a gas guzzler, thirsty on fuel and the reliability of this car was awful. Si servicing, insurance and parts are pricey. Not worth it.

    Driving

    2 out of 5 2.0

Okay drive, handles corners well, power steering could be lighter.

    Performance

    2 out of 5 2.0

The best thing about this car is the 0-60. It really does shift! BUT the bumpy, rattling ride takes that novelty swifty away.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    1 out of 5 1.0

Absolutley deplorable. I have never been so disappointed with a car in my life. Requires a cold start EVERY morning, even on a sunny day, extremley shabby build quality.

Street cred is there. This car is all man and is probably one of the best looking Fiesta shapes around to this day.

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

Acceptable for the front passenger and driver due to the winged seats. Could be improved.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Poor locks, easy to break into, the only peace of mind is the immobiliser. Deactivate the Ford alarm and install your own. These cars ARE attractive to thieving boy racers.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

For a decade-old car the quotes on parts is sickening, especially a poor man's car such as the Ford Fiesta.
