Ford Fiesta 1.6i Ghia 5d (1995/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Good value motor, with high equiptment level.
Costs
Good fuel economy. Suffers a little at speed. Reasonable servicing and parts from local Ford dealer.
-
On the road
Driving
Pleasure to drive and comfortable seats, although the ride can be very harsh on rough roads. Otherwise very good.
Performance
The 1.6i engine delivers outstanding acceleration and overtaking power, although if you want the engine to potter around town it's quite happy also.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Engine-wise no problems. The only issue I have found is that brake pads and engine mountings need replacing quite often (every other service).
Image
The 1.6i Fiesta is kind of a Wolf in sheeps clothing. Looks nothing special, although a very exhilarating drive is available if you want it. Smart and Cheerful design.
Comfort
Comfortable seating. Rear space is adequate (5 dr version). Harsh on rough roads. Tends to juggle you about your seat a little, although nothing major.

Security and Service
Security
Factory Alarm, immobiliser and deadlocks. Seems quite secure. Never had a break in and never an attempt been made.
Service
Not bad service from a main dealer, reasonable servicing charges.
