Economy
Value
Great value for money, although you should go for a car that hasn"t had the nuts kicked out of it!
Costs
Cheap parts and service costs. Remember to get the cambelt changed!

On the road
Driving
Very smooth and refined engine, and a different car to its 1.6 brother. Ride is still quite harsh however.
Performance
Good to 80 mph though could do with better top end. Engine is superbly smooth.

Living with it
Reliability
Never let me down.
Image
Later cars were not as boy racer-ish yet still look the part, and don"t look as dated as earlier models.
Comfort
Different interior to the 1.6 car; much better seats provide more comfort and refinement.

Security and Service
Security
Fit an immobiliser as these cars tend to walk…!
Service
Ford parts availability is second to none.
