Ford Fiesta (1989 - 1997) 1.8 D Pop Plus 5d Owner Review
In their own words
offers a small car without the pitfalls of a tiny petrol engine. The engine is tough and has good torque so it's not that bad on the motorway or doing a long distance journey compared to other superminis. very reliable, mine was still very much alive with over 200k on clock. it is very basic, if you want toys then this is not the car for you but for a cheap reliable workhorse it is one of the best. security is one big negative, far too easy to steal, but invesr in a steering wheel lock and the problem is solved.
How reliable do you find the car?
one breakdown in 50,000 miles with cambelt tensioner breaking but luckily the belt stayed on so a easy enough and cheap enough job. very high mileage so can't moan. otherwise have just changed oil a few times over 50k mile ownershipDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
I had some experience of the small capacity petrol variants and the diesel is significantly superior. very practical, surprisingly capable small car with rock bottom running costs and surprisingly good performanceAbout their car
