Economy
Value
This is for buying used (new it would get a 2). Thousands around, so cheap used.
Costs
Servicing and parts cheap (I don't use dealer), but needs careful servicing. Cam belt change £100. 45mpg at indicated 80mph.

On the road
Driving
Spot on. A hoot to drive, and comfortable for me (5' 9"). Handling is superb. A B-road hooligan.
Performance
Not particularly fast, but nippy. However it's so much fun you don't really notice the lack of outright speed. Overtaking on single-carriageway roads need planning though.

Living with it
Reliability
Perfect. Replaced weeping rear brake cylinders at 5 years old, nothing else.
Image
Looks a bit bland. A shopping car image.
Comfort
When I bought it at 20k miles, perfect. Now seat is sagging a bit. Can't adjust steering wheel. Cramped in rear and small boot.

Security and Service
Security
I've seen it rated as good, with the Ford immobilizer given good reviews. I've not had to test the security, thankfully.
Service
Haven't used Ford for anything, as I bought outside the warranty period.
