Summary
What does this car say about you?
Personally for a new driver I think a Fiesta is one of the better choices. For more experienced drivers this car probably gives the impression that the owner is on a pretty serious budget or has no need for something larger.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
It's not a car that is likely to impress anyone and you are unlikely to get any compliments. Most people just think of it as transport, nothing more.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, I am very much into my cars and this bought by me to give me something to drive until I could afford something nicer.
What are you likely to buy next?
I replaced this with an Alfa Romeo 147.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,650
When did you buy the car?
February 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
I thought the price was fair considering the mileage was below average for the age (under 50k) and I bought the car from a friend whose Dad was a mechanic.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
This was the first car that I bought. I bought it when I was 18. Obviously, given the high price of insurance for young drivers I was limited in my choices but of the cars I could realistically afford to run, I though the Fiesta was the best.
What was the dealer like?
NA

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Not quick by any account but better than some reviews here would have you believe. Driven fairly hard it is quick enough on A roads and motorways but acceleration (especially over 60mph) can be very slow. Struggles to maintain speed up hills with more than two occupants.
What's it like to park?
Very easy. If you can't park this you should probably give your licence back.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing mechanically. Some corrosion on the drivers door but apart from that when I sold it the car was in the same condition as when I bought it.
What's most practical about your car?
For a small car the interior space is fairly generous. I am over 6 foot but managed to find a comfortable driving postion. On occasions I also managed to fit 5 young adults.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The audio system that I fitted myself. Other than this the "gadgets" in this car as standard are sparse.
