Ford Fiesta 1.4 Flame 3d (2003/53) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Nice level of trim. Great bundle of 'extras'. Trade-in price scarey!
Costs
Fuel economy poor -under 30mpg for a modern 1.4 is an outrage.

On the road
Driving
Grips the road well - you always feel that you are in control. Motorway cruising nice, but some tyre noise can be distracting.
Performance
I have found it 'sluggish', not the nippy thing others talk about. Inclined to stall during low speed manoeuvers
-
Living with it
Reliability
No trouble at all in the 18 months.
Image
It is a nice looking car, inside and out. The best of the Fiesta's to look at by far. If you must have one buy a 5 door not a 3 door.
Comfort
Very uncomfortable. Low profile tyres let every bump through. Seats too short, not offering enough leg support. I found it difficult to obtain a comfortable driving position on long jouneys. Getting in and out of the back is a nightmare. Doors are too big

Security and Service
Security
The 'dead-locking' makes you feel that the vehicle is secure. The cost of an extra key is exorbitant!
Service
Much the same as others. Courtesy bus into town a nice touch.
