What does this car say about you?

In Hong Kong where everyone drives BMW, Mercs, or Lexus etc it said we were a little bit eccentric I think.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I think the neighbors probably thought it was a golf cart parked next to their Bentley.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Definitely not with the Dura-shift. Conventional Auto perhaps or Manual yes, but not the dura-shift.

We got a XJ8.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, the guy that owned it was re-locating from Hong Kong back to the UK and needed to get rid of it.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

It was cheap, and had only one expat owner.

What's it like to drive?

Dura-shift gear box was not nice. It seemed to always be in the wrong gear. We had this car in Hong Kong which is very very hilly and it struggled to cope. Maybe if you're living somewhere flat it would be so bad.

What's it like to park?

Easy as long as not on a hill. Because the gear box doesn't creep like a normal auto you end up rolling backwards and forwards. With no clutch pedal you can't control the biting point of the engine so it hard to control when parking on a hill.

Have you had any problems with the car?

It did need a new ignition coil.

What's most practical about your car?

Good size for city driving. Pretty good boot. Easy to drive.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Stereo was pretty good, reversing sensors were helpful.
