Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008) 1.4 LX 5d (AC) Owner Review

In their own words
Bought the car originally as a city run around but capable of the occasional motorway run. However it became the opposite, It spent less and less time in the city in stop start traffic and spent most of its days pounding motorways up and down britain.
An absolute hoot on B roads always held the road like glue and could throw yourself into corners without rolling around all over the place - only complaint is the ride is a bit harsh and you can hear lots of road noise and feel every tiny bump in our 3rd world quality roads in the UK.
In all that time while travelling it never missed a beat. Great fuel economy 47MPG easy every time, was able to achieve 410 miles out of every tank of fuel as long as you were not lead footed
Easy to work on and parts and labour are very good value.Insurance not the cheapest as its often used by boy racers my larger cars insurance was almost the same - Passed its MOT twice with only tyres as an advisory
Good space for front occupants and luggage capacity was better than I thought it would be. Sadly its not great for adult sized passengers in the back, fine for small journeys but distances longer than 2 hours were never comfortable for anyone inside but its a small car and expectations must be realistic.
Problems: Towards the end Not many major or serious ones but annoying and niggly ones mostly and they all happened at once.
* Rear high positioned light died and never worked again even with new bulbs and fuses * Front side lights same issue both died one was a bulb and the other dead completely. * Rear doors filled with water when it rained and never drained rusting the insides by the time I noticed. * Front heated screen worked one side but not the other * Radio started to change the volume on its own while driving increasing at random to full blast replacing the radio did not fix the issue Front window if lowered with the car turned off drained the battery flat instantly.
Battery kept running flat and going into limp mode (Never found out why even after replacing the battery and mechanic after checking everything that could be possibly related was stumped thus ending this cars story.)
Overall a great car that could not have performed better but the car is cheaply made with low quality materials all round it seems and thus I would not get another.
