Summary
What does this car say about you?
It probably says I'm a cheapskate but I don't care. £35 road tax and 58mpg more than make up for it's lack of street cred.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
The snobbier ones look down their noses at it but that's their problem
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. The wife's just got a new model Fiesta and it just so much better in all respects.
What are you likely to buy next?
Focus or new model Fiesta probably. Maybe a Skoda Fabia Vrs for a laugh.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,000
When did you buy the car?
March 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Car was on the front at £9k. Paid £8 with a full service, full tank and a year's tax (at £35 he wasn't giving much away there though)
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Downsized from a 2.5 litre Rover 75 when squirt went over £1 a litre and road tax went over £400.
What was the dealer like?
Very helpful. Ex Ford dealer specialising in late low mileage Fords

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's not like the Rover 75 but it scuttles along nicely and corners extremely tidily. The torque from the 1.6 diesel makes overtaking a hoot. I get about 58mpg and the road tax is only £35 so it's as close as it gets to free motoring
What's it like to park?
A doodle

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing. It's been faultlessly reliable.
What's most practical about your car?
Small, easy to drive, easy to park
