Economy
Value
For the price, could do much better.
Costs
On a good day will get 47 out of it, when driven reasonably. Insurance is high and parts can be expensive.
-
On the road
Driving
Zetec suspension still rolls, gearbox is clunky and awful. Engine is very good performance but refuses to rev.
Performance
Turbo kicks in at 1600 and power dies around 4500. At 80 mph it's barely ticking over in 6th at 2000 rpm.

Living with it
Reliability
Many problems car was made by blind chimps wipers when on full speed at 70 mph drop off the side of the windscreen. engine speed detector was shot on delivery causing occasional stalling at around 3000 rpm dangerous fault
Image
too small for people to not bully you on the roads but too large and bulky to look good styling could be worse but bad choice of shape
Comfort
I am tall (6'8"), and stereo controls dig into my leg when driving. Spacious as a passenger and presumably for shorter drivers. The ride is smooth with zetec suspension.

Security and Service
Security
Not tested.
Service
Airbag warning light stayed on. Went in to have it fixed and found after 4 days the engineers had just disconnected the warning light to save them the bother of replacing the airbags
