In their own words
A great drive: gear changing, steering, braking and cornering. As some reviewers have said, a little sluggish but it depends what you are used to. Surprising to me, I find my 2.7 litre diesel Discovery faster which intuitively doesnt feel right. BUT it fast enough! No leaks from roof: great operation and of course after 8 years, I hope it continues. Friends look askance at me (too old to play with toys) but LOVE IT AFTER A RIDE. Look forward to many years of happy motoring!?
How reliable do you find the car?
I bought the car from a second hand dealer with one months warranty. He fixed new discs and pads. I tried to get other jobs done: puncture and leaking wheel rims without response. So I paid for replacement pollen filter, new set of plugs, wheel refurbishment and two new tyresDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
Oh dear! Memories of sports cars: RS2000, Vitesse Convertible, TR5 and Morgan 4/4. Of course, it is none of these but it really is sporty with the hood down. I'm a little disappointed with petrol consumption: was hoping for 40ish and getting 30ish. Precise steering, notchy gearbox, line of sight all great. Just completed a 500 mile round trip with much motorway and it performed well. I have to be really careful not to give it its head and drive at 90 plus!! We can easily drive with two adults and our girls aged 9 and 10 in the back seats. They complain a little when comparing the room to our Disco: but who wouldnt? We should have looked longer and gone for the top of the range: our impatience, nothing to do with the carAbout their car
