Economy
Value
We imported ours in 2000 from Belgium and paid just over £10,000 for a car that cost £15,000-plus in the UK at the time. Also, lots of fairly basic kit had to be purchased as part of additional packages.
Costs
Not bad fuel consumption and very little few other costs.

Driving
Great car to drive. We regularly make long journeys to Scotland/Ireland/France and found it an ideal car. Nothing particularly fancy about the Focus but it did everything that was required. Good driving position and the controls were all logically placed.
Performance
Pretty good for an estate. Ploughed its way up and down motorways with ease and had just enough acceleration to keep us happy.

Living with it
Reliability
Brilliant. Having owned a fairly unreliable Rover beforehand the last six years have been a revelation - we only see our local garage now when we're having a service.
Image
Ford's are never going to be very cool or sexy - but who cares when it gets you from A to B every time.
Comfort
Okay-ish. Wife found the passenger seat a bit of a nightmare on long journeys.

Security and Service
Security
Fine.
Service
Only had our first service at local Ford dealer. It was OK, but expensive.
