Summary
What does this car say about you?
I don't think think type of vehicle says anything about me as a person. It blends in as part of the furniture given the number of them on the road! This can sometimes be a good thing, however.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all like it. I've has no negative comments, and it still has some street cred with my mates.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I never buy the same car twice, so probably not. But this isn't a reflection on the car.
What are you likely to buy next?
Maybe a Merc CLK, BMW 5 series or the new Astra VXR. I haven't decided yet, but I will keep this one for at least another 4 years.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£7,500
When did you buy the car?
March 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
It was the cheapest Focus with low mileage and the same age in the local area.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Had a Fiat previously, so was looking for something more reliable and cheaper to maintain. ford value servicing and cheap parts were enticing. I drove a focus previously and was impressed with the way it drove. the Focus seemed to be a good all rounder which ticked all the boxes.
What was the dealer like?
I purchased it from Bury Car Centre. I cant fault them. Unlike any other dealership they seemed quite up front and didnt use any pressure sales tactics.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fantastic. It's easy to drive in the city, nippy enough and the steering isn't to heavy. It is good fun along a twisty B road with precise and well weighted steering. It always feels sure footed, and the ESP system offers further reassurance (although it can interfere to much in the wet) On the motorway it is quiet, responsive and comfortable. The only criticism is economy. Around town 25 mpg is the best I can hope for. On a good motorway run sticking to 70mph, I achieve 37mpg. Combined mpg is around 33. I once did a long run at 55mph and averaged 47mpg (just). On balance though, the low MPG is a price worth paying for the way the car drives.
What's it like to park?
I find it easy to park, however some say the rear visibility isn't great.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing to date after 6 months and 6,000 miles. There is a minor trim rattle, but I don't notice it most of the time. It's not a criticism, just more of an observation.
What's most practical about your car?
It's quite spacious and has a good size boot.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I like the heated front windscreen, and the stereo is quite powerful.
