Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's a Focus. It drives superbly, grips like glue in corners and you feel in complete control at all times. My Zetec felt a little harsh around town but that's a small compromise for the handling.Steering is excellent and in 6th gear on the motorway you can barely hear the engine.Acceleration mid range is astonishing, particularly in 5th gear, you can feel the turbo thrusting the car on.
What's it like to park?
Parking is fine,it's a surprisingly long car - the Mondeo must be enormous.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Replaced cam belt and water pump at 105k.Ford recommend 120k - that seemed a little risky to me.Needed a new starter motor at 114k and the wiring loom had melted - £480 - not cheap.
What's most practical about your car?
It's an estate, but not a huge one.Fuel economy is outstanding for a 2.0 diesel.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated front screen is always a great extra. I also liked the on board computer - very easy to use and the display is right in the driver's line of vision.
