Ford Focus Estate (2011 - 2018) 1.5 TDCi (120bhp) Titanium X Navigation 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
In general two years of ownership has been a real pleasure. Mine has full leather which makes for a nice ambiance in the cabin (bit slippy if you drive with vigour mind) and the front seats are heated - absolutely love them in the winter...the heated wheel is also surprisingly nice. The dual zone climate is excellent being very quick to pull the temp down on a sunny day. The Titanium-X spec means you get good tech as standard while mine has lots of optional extras that make for a safe, relaxing drive The Sync3/Sony system is particularly good, sounds fantastic and includes CarPlay/Android Auto which means you get phone apps for nav/music etc. The sub under the boot liner adds a nice growl to the music but remember to keep the noise level down if you have a dog as it does pack a punch. With the optional 18' wheels grip is incredible in both the dry and wet though the ride is harder due to the thin sidewalls. They do look good but I would stick with 17's if you prefer comfort. The 1.5 TDCI 120bhp engine accelerates well, is smooth, has plenty of low down pull which makes driving round town less stressful and I'm getting just over 50mpg even though I can be heavy on the pedal...zero VED too which is a bonus. If you have the choice of Adaptive Bi-xeon headlights - go for them. It is difficult to describe just how good they are or how well the various pattern changes always light up the road. All in all I have been impressed and would definitely recommend the car.
How reliable do you find the car?
Bought direct from a Ford main dealer so full warranty which was handy as one of the Advanced Lighting units developed a fault where it would turn with the steering wheel but not always come back. Its a common fault apparently and expensive (around £800) for a replacement headlight so glad it was covered.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Better than expected actually. Upgraded from a Mk2 Focus and the difference is pronounced.About their car
