Ford Focus Hatchback (1998 - 2004) 1.6 Flight 3d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Nice to drive, smooth gear change and adequate performance from the 1.6 engine. Not a particularly powerful unit for its size when compared to modern 1.6's, but reliable.
The car handles corners well by maintaining flat and composed throughout, and that's with budget tyres.
Good cruiser on the motorway, but would recommend the diesel models if you want the car for regular motorway use as the fuel economy is a little disappointing. I can only get about 400-450 miles per 55 litres of fuel. Would expect 480-520.
The car is practical and spacious inside, even the three door model. Boot is large and there is plenty of storage spaces.
The cabin design is a little dated, but still looks interesting thanks to the funky design and its very ergonomic so everything is where you expect it.
The driving position is okay, however i'd like the steering wheel to be closer, although it adjusts for reach, I find it doesn't come close enough.
Overall, its a brilliant car for the price I paid especially. I would advise you source the right model for your needs and bare in mind the fuel economy, i'd imagine it would be slightly worse on the 1.8-2.0 models. I'd suggest everyone apart from first time buyers, to steer clear of the 1.4's, as they would be under powered.

How reliable do you find the car?
Simple car, so simple there is little to go wrong. The only faults on the car is the steering wheel mounted radio controls don't work and the reverse light doesn't work (common fault).Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Got the car for £400, so it's was a great deal. Does the job for me until I can afford an upgrade, possibly keep the car for a year or keep it as a reserve car.About their car
