Ford Focus Hatchback (1998 - 2004) 1.6 Flight 3d Owner Review

In their own words
So I bought a mk1 focus back in 2016 as my first car (a 1.6 was a bold move as a first car I know) and I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting much as I only handed over a few hundred pounds for it however boy I was suprised by this car! Big time! There’s lots of room on the interior and the boot is a very good size, in 3 door form it’s a very striking looking car even today! But the best part is how it drove it really was fantastic fun on a twisty road yes the 1.6 only produces 99 lethargic horsepower but it was responsive at low range and it meant you could have fun even at low speeds visibility is also superb and it’s also really easy to drive in town And the ride is superb and the seats while not supportive are supremely comfortable.
Bad points: I did experience a few reliability issues with this car however I think it’s more down to age and the fact it had sat for a few months after I had these issues sorted (these were only in the first 2 months of owning it) I had trouble free motoring! The added bonus is the focus is really simple to work on too, I should best mention that I did end up owning a second mk1 focus a few months after I sold this one (abeit a 5 door) and I had absolutely no issues though it did come with service history. other issues do include that I find some of the interior plastics a touch on the cheap side.
In summary, the mk1 focus is a brilliant used buy and provided it’s been maintained and has the service history to prove it, it truly is an excellent all round car!
