Economy
Value
A bit pricey new with average spec levels, but good value second hand.
Costs
Low servicing and insurance costs. Excellent balance between performance and economy.

On the road
Driving
Superb steering, suspension and gearbox put many so called 'sports cars' I have driven to shame.
Performance
Good performance for 1.6, with excellent economy. High gearing means lots of gear changing necessary but improved motorway refinement justifies this.

Living with it
Reliability
Early model so a few niggling problems, but mostly sorted under warranty.
Image
About as good as it gets for a Ford I think.
Comfort
Spacious and comfortable, but inadequate steering wheel reach adjustment for taller drivers.

Security and Service
Security
Hasn't been nicked yet. Seems to get good reviews.
Service
Fine with routine items, but based on experiences with other cars, Ford dealers are not very bright when it comes to more complicated problems.

Problems and Ownership
