I bought this car in a panic for £600 because I had to get back on the road in a hurry following an accident. The dealer had disguised a leak, causing damp and mould in the car. Once I'd traced it and fixed it, this has been an amazing car. It has put up with all sorts of abuse as a short-journey runabout, loaded up as a van, long journeys and so on, and has taken it all in its stride. The only real issue was having to replace the fuel pump at about 140,000 miles. The starter motor also went, but I consider that more of a consumable item. In any case, by keeping a hammer in the car to give it a tap, I delayed having to replace it by about 6 months. My lockwire repair to hold the silencer together has also survived several MOTs. I can't imagine any other car serving me so well.
How reliable do you find the car?
Given the age and mileage of the car, it has been very reliable. Only 'serious' issue was having to replace the fuel pump. The starter motor also went, but I managed to keep it going for some time by keeping a hammer in the car so I could give it a tap when stuck.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
I bought this car very cheap in a panic because I needed a car in a hurry. It has been fantastic, having put up with all sorts of abuse. I still enjoy driving it despite its age.About their car
