Something similar
-
Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,200
When did you buy the car?
December 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
£1200 for an 02 plate Focus turbo diesel was an offer too good to refuse.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Urgently needed a cheap, reliable, practical no-frills diesel car. Bought off an ex-university mate and seemed like a deal too good to refuse
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Rather lacklustre until turbo kicks in, cruises well and has decent low down torque for safe overtaking in 4th and 5th gears. Engine noisy at over 70mph, but it is the old TD version after all. Handling is typical of all Focus models, sharp and precise.
What's it like to park?
Fine, although rear visibility isn't great

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Apart from water in the reversing light, it has been the most reliable and trouble free car I have owned so far. Bought with 150k on the clock and still going strong at 164k
What's most practical about your car?
Decent sized boot, seats 3 in the back reasonably comfortably, but used mainly as a works car
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Alloy wheels give the car a sporty look. Also nice to have remote locking that works
