Owned for over 23 years, great to drive, still looks good. Has many of the features that were extras in year 2000 ABS, A/C (still works fine), 4 electic windows etc. No real problems passed the last 7 MOTs with no advisories and no welding ever needed. Due to rust concerns with some Fords car Waxoyled every year after rust warranty expired. Serviced every year without skimping, on third battery, third exhaust, and third cambelt plus kept with Continental tyres.
Plan to keep car as long as possible if we can keep rust at bay, might end up collectable like mk2 Escort!
How reliable do you find the car?
No issues until 85,000 miles then few minor issues nothing too bad.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Reliable and great all round.
