Economy
Value
Cheap to buy both new and second hand, lots of toys for your money - 6 speed box, A/C, heated mirrors, half-leather seats all as standard.
Costs
As above on the standard features, but can be let down byt he high insurance costs, high fuel costs and the time span between changing front tyres - approx 12,000 miles per set!

On the road
Driving
One of the better handling cars I have driven in a long time. Good on the straights, and excellent around the bends - even better on country lanes. Can be a bit on the noisy side on a long run, especially if the road surface is not of the best quality.
Performance
Fairly quick in a straight line, although won't keep up with the likes of a Civic Type-R, but round the bends, roundabouts and country lanes it's excellent. Could do with a little more low down grunt, but that's the penalty for VVT style technology.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems as yet - have had the ECU flashed and the inlet manifold replaced to prevent surging - all done under warranty and with minimum of fuss.
Image
A good image - although not quite the HOT HATCH that Ford would have you believe. Looks best in Magnum Grey - nice and understated but with a bit of get up and go when you need it.
Comfort
Can't fault it on driver comfort, plenty of space for over 6ft drivers. Lacks a bit of space in the rear for taller people and getting out the back on the 3dr can be a bit of a pain.

Security and Service
Security
Can't comment - but it comes with a thatcham cat1 as standard, which can't be bad.
Service
Excellent customer service from Brooklyn Ford - No problem with warranty work either, all carried out with minimum fuss.
