Summary
What does this car say about you?
Good car for a guy in their mid 20's.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all liked it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I ultimately sold this because of the fuel economy and lack of pace, especially when it went up a hill on a dual carriageway. I would buy the 1.6 TDCI or 2.0 TDCi model if i bought another Focus.
What are you likely to buy next?
Bought a Megane CC 1.9 DCi.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£5,000
When did you buy the car?
March 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
I received £1500 for my 03 plate Vauxhall Corsa and paid £3000 on top of that for the Focus. It really worked out at £5000 as i was technically getting £2000 and paying £3000 on top of that so realistically i was getting the car for £4500 at 41000 miles, FSH, recent service and 1 month warranty.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
2 Family owner car in fantastic condition.
What was the dealer like?
The dealer is a lifelong friend so he took care of me through the whole sales process including the reg transfer. (newtyle garage)

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The engine is not great. 370 miles on a tank at the cost of £50-55 and it is not that nippy (the 100bhp model). It did drive well on country roads and motorways when up to speed but it drank fuel when revved hard or drivem at 75mph onwards.
What's it like to park?
Very easy.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The alternator went wrong at the cost of £140 2 months after purchase due to age and the reverse light/fog light needed fixed at the cost of £35.
What's most practical about your car?
The boot is large and it fits 5 adults comfortably.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The sound from the cd player is very clear.
