Summary
What does this car say about you?
The kind of car that may be driven by many different people. Pretty common on the roads but that's because it's a good car.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Like it. Still looks modern even though there is a new focus out. Have been asked if it was brand new!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Meets all my requirements. Fun car to drive and comfortable.
What are you likely to buy next?
Depends what I need at the time. Possibly another focus. Would like an ST!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£6,600
When did you buy the car?
February 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
Felt the price was reasonable. Obviously paid a premium for getting diesel but this will hopefully work out in the long run.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted something economical and comfy but not painfully slow and this seemed to fit the bill. Also wanted something that would fit a bike in the back without too much difficulty.
What was the dealer like?
Fine, no problems.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great to drive. Comfortable but engaging. It is easy to drive both round town and on the motorway. The 1.6 TDCI engine doesn't feel slow and generally has plenty of power for overtaking, accelerating on slip roads etc. I chose this engine mainly because of its economy. I haven't been able to get anywhere close to quoted figures for urban, extra-urban or combined, but it still does a good mean mpg and road tax is only £30/year.
What's it like to park?
Took a little while to get used to the size when reversing due to the steeply sloped rear. Fairly easy once used to this.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No problems so far!
What's most practical about your car?
It has a huge boot for its class (much bigger than the mk1 focus) and there is lots of handy storage around the cabin. It will also seat adults in the back in reasonable comfort.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control on this model is useful on long journeys. It also has gadgets such as auto lights and windscreen wipers that are a nice touch.
