What does this car say about you?

It doesnt now, its gone..yippee!!! But while i had it, i think it said....MUG!!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They liked it till i showed them the faults.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No! stick with a mk1. i couldnt believe how tacky the plastics are inside, theyll never last the test of time. Interior marks too easily and seems weak. Plastics were of poor quality and ill fitting. Went to 2 dealers 6 times for warranty repairs before Ford UK were finally involved, even then they wouldnt fix the rust problems as was too expensive and were unhelpful as i hadnt bought car new. Dealer came up trumps and took car back for what i paid for it as it was a 'dog'.

What are you likely to buy next?

I got a Toyota instead, doesnt have the same image, but reliability, build quality and service agent are poles apart from Ford. I did test drive a 2.0 TDCI 6 sp Ghia a couple of weeks ago to compare my 2.0D4D and theres no way ill go back to Ford.

Had excellent trade in value, car was at book price on forecourt.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted a reliable diesel to replace my beloved petrol mark 1 Focus which was a bit thirsty on the juice as i was having to travel further to work since moving. What a mistake i made!

What was the dealer like?

Brilliant, not pushy, did best to help me.

What's it like to drive?

Ok, but very noisy under the bonnet, and transferred easily to the cabin. Handles as safe as houses tho.

What's it like to park?

No problems

Have you had any problems with the car?

How big is this pane? YES. Most metal components under the bonnet were rusty, (including every screw!) the air recirculation system needed new parts as they kept falling off, door rubbers on drivers side didnt cover up poorly aligned dash surround, tank needed replacing as kept getting airlocked when trying to fill up..i could go on.

What's most practical about your car?

Fuel economy, large boot.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The fact that the onboard computer could tell me how many miles were left. That was a godsend given that i couldnt squeeze more than a gallon at a time in that tank. Otherwise its bland on gadgets. Mondeo zetec has much more.
