Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not a lot. Fords are so common that it's hard to make a statement by owning one.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends and family thought the Zetec S trim looked smart.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would, if I wanted another inexpensive car. It fits the bill perfectly.
What are you likely to buy next?
BMW

Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£14,500
When did you buy the car?
June 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
I think so. Deal was done online and undercut the showroom dealers by a significant amount.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted a car that was inexpensive to run but would still be fun to drive.
What was the dealer like?
They (Arnold Clark) were very friendly and accommodating and didn't try the hardsell, which I liked.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Like any Ford, the car is painfully easy to drive, which makes commuting painless. Driving harder, the car is fun and the 2.0 engine has a reasonable amount of power.
What's it like to park?
Easy. Good visibility.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
One of the engine belts started squeaking after about 2.5 years. Replacement kit was about £200. A couple of squeaky panels now, but nothing major.
What's most practical about your car?
Heated front-windscreen is amazing. It sounds so dull, but in winter it never gets boring being able to jump in the car and drive off after a couple of minutes! Space in car is good and it is cheap to run.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated front-windscreen! Bluetooth phone/stereo is very convenient. Plays music from phone through stereo.
