Summary
What does this car say about you?
At first glance it probably says "middle class oldie!" BUT if you look under the skin......
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They are, without exception, surprised when taken for a drive in the Focus. They find it hard to believe that it only has a one litre engine.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, but we would, as always evaluate the alternatives.
What are you likely to buy next?
Could well be another Ford but we probably won't be in the market for until 2016 and a lot can happen in the meantime.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£12,900
When did you buy the car?
September 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
We think it was a good deal. We also considered Vauxhall and Honda and the final decision rested as much on price as the perceived quality of the cars we considered.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
We were very impressed with the 125 bhp performance and the car met our needs for size and comfort at a competitive price.
What was the dealer like?
We didn't take to the salesman at first but soon changed our minds. He tried very hard to get our business and eventually succeeded. The dealer showroom was clean and efficiently run.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The Focus has been a revelation to drive. The over boost torque and 125 bhp performance make it feel quicker than perhaps it is in reality. Handling and ride comfort seem to be well up with the competition.
What's it like to park?
OK but not special. It has park distance control to the rear. I don't find it easy to parallel park but that may be more to do with advancing years than the car!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No.
What's most practical about your car?
It is probably the most comfortable medium car we have ever owned. We had a Mark 1 Focus for seven years and it was superbly comfortable. The Mark 3 is a step ahaed and in our opinion better than the equivalent cars from Renault and Peugeot which we have also owned.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Amongst the many gadgets. it's probably the cruise control for me.
