Summary
What does this car say about you?
It's smart (candy red) and looks really good when sparklingly clean. Although not a 'sporty' model, I do like the high trim level inside and out.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all love it - even confirmed 'petrol heads' are really impressed with the performance from the 125ps 1.0L engine and who could fail to be impressed with the self-park facility?
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not - simply because I expected much better fuel consuption.
What are you likely to buy next?
I liked the Honda Civic 2.2 Deisel in ES trim and if they get rid of the rediculous spoiler I might well consider that next.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£19,800
When did you buy the car?
September 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Test drove the car at one dealership & got a quote then went to another dealer and asked them if they could better that quote. Also the finance package included £1500 deposit allowance (even if you then settle in full).
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Drove better than the competition on a test drive and a good price with several extras on an already high spec model.
What was the dealer like?
Excellent - good with the paperwork and obtaining the best finance deal and also good with the handover.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very comfy (electric half leather seat) and very quiet compared to 4 other cars I test drove in this class. Performance is adequate from the tiny 1.0L engine and really quite responsive at low revs due to the high turbo-boost torque.
What's it like to park?
This model has self-park which works amazingly well - leaves the car 50mm from the kerb every time with a minimum of forward / back moves. Also has a rear camera (comes with the sat nav) along with all-round sensors so a breeze to park although the turning circle isn't the best in class by a long way.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
4 weeks in (800 miles) and no niggles so far although the MPG quoted (56.5 combined) is surely unobtainable unless you live in Norfolk or the Netherlands, I'm struggling to get 40 MPG with a VERY light right foot.
What's most practical about your car?
The focus is a step down in size for me but still has ample space inside for 4 to travel in comfort although it probably doesn't have the best boot space in its class.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
So many gadgets its hard to choose, the sat-nav (extra) works well along with up-to-date traffic warnings.
