Ford Focus Hatchback (2011 - 2018) 1.0 (125bhp) EcoBoost Zetec 5d Owner Review

Great car, comfortable, handles really well, seems to be quite economic on fuel and quick enough for most people. One real plus is the heated front windscreen, has been brilliant for defrosting recently. The only big downside to Ford Focus ownership is the car is on it's second ecotech engine, the first failed at about 40,000 miles apparently not a rare occurrence and according to the Ford Technician "one of the worst I've seen " to be fair to Ford and the dealership the engine was replaced free of charge. I've since been told there is a design fault with a water pipe splitting, so worth checking if you're interested in buying a petrol focus! Would I buy another one? Yes but obviously with the newer designed engine.
