  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

Standard fare but smart to look at.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Most seem to like it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Depends on how much money I had available - I would prefer a better specced car. It was a toss up between this and the Honda Civic. So the answer is probably No.

What are you likely to buy next?

Whatever tickles my fancy in 5-7 years time.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £17,750

When did you buy the car?

    September 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

They offered me a £2000 discount for using Ford finance deal (which I paid off after a month because I had the cash), plus a reasonable part-ex on my Peugeot.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

My previous car, a Peugeot 307, was due for replacement after 7 years.

    What was the dealer like?

Very good. Professional and very accommodating.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Tight as a drum with a slight tendency to oversteer. Not as supple as the Peugeot 307, but fairly sure footed. Good acceleration when required. A little more noisy that the Peugeot (road/tyre noise).

    What's it like to park?

Long dropped nose bonnet means you have to be careful when approaching other cars. Low front spoiler has clipped a couple of kerb tops. Not too bad for reverse park, but could do with parking sensors as standard.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

A little annoyed that the driver's seat squab cloth started to ruck up/loosen after a month or so, but the Service Dept. would not see that as being an issue. Also there is no opportunity to alter the headlight setting, which I find is a little too low for the country roads I use. Again the Service Dept would not see this as a problem as the setting was within specification.

What's most practical about your car?

The Start-Stop function which requires the clutch to be pressed to activate the engine, thus ensuring you don't stall by being in gear.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The SYNC facility which allows me to answer/make calls on my mobile phone.
