Ford Focus Hatchback (2011 - 2018) 1.6 TDCi Zetec S 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I like the way the car drives and handles now iv stopped the limp mode problem, Its quiet roomy enough to take our cycles and luggage to France on Holidays each year, Its very economical and doesnt black smoke when you boot it like the lower powered diesel engined versions do, Dont buy one at 4 years old unless you get the seller to change the battery as its gonna need a new one at 5 years old and they are a £150 flooded gel battery, So if you can live with all the faults it throws at you then its a good car to drive. I would purchase another with my eyes open a lot wider next time.
How reliable do you find the car?
Clutch pedal sticking down to the floor after a 30 mileish journey making it very difficult to drive safely. Gearbox bearing failour @ 70k so gearbox out to be reconditioned is a joke for this sort of money spent on a car, Water leak into boot that nobody seemed able to fix until i broke off a trap door thingy in the rear bumper internals, Door rubbers design absolutely pants as the glue always fails on these, and the air conditioning only works occasionally even after going in to franchise dealer with no faults found. And the car goes into limp mode when you accelerate over 2500 revs but i did find and fix that problem with a replacement fuel filter and not the dpf like all the garages try to tell you and sell you.About their car
