Ford Focus Hatchback Vignale 1.5 Ford EcoBoost 182PS auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
This is my 4th different shape Focus, and for me this is the best looking of them all.
Wanted to get an ST Line X auto petrol, but wanting an auto, they were like hens teeth! Then one day stumbled across a Vignale (in black) by accident. Hadn’t heard of it, so hoovered up all the info I could find, and all seemed positive. Being COVID times, I couldn’t have a test drive, but the dealer gave me a 2 week or 500 mile full money back guarantee. But previously had 3 Focus’s before, and all reviews saying how well it drives, I took the chance.
Day after I picked it up, went on a 400 mile round trip to Cornwall. Wow! The drive was excellent. Sticks to the road like glue. Comfort far above what I was expecting. 1.5 engine is a peach and has all the power most of us will need in everyday situations. Nice and relaxed when normal running, but plant your right foot and it goes. The Bose sound system is something else as well.
The auto box has been perfect 99% of the time, think it got confused 3 times approaching roundabouts slowly then accelerating.
MPG is averaging 35 under daily driving (and wife’s heavy right foot!), but got 43.9 in Eco mode on another trip to Cornwall.
Couple of minor issues that seem to be on a few MK4 Focus, is the smart battery tech (think that’s what it’s called?). My stop start and keyless entry are a bit hit and miss? I don’t like either, and would have them off anyway. But seems like I’m not alone with those issues? Will get it sorted under warranty. Also the boot is smaller than all my previous Focus’s, it’s average at best.
But overall I am very very pleased with it.
