Ford Focus ST (2012 - 2018) 2.0T ST-2 Hatchback 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I have had our ST2 a year. Wanted a car that I could fit two adults and three kids including all their stuff in the boot which was fun to drive. The ST fits all of the above excellently.
The engine is sublime, powerful and smooth. Torque is brilliant, picks up at very low revs which makes it a very easy car to drive when pottering about but when you want some fun it is happy to oblige.
Seats are comfortable but if you are on the large size forget it, front seats are very snug.
Good options included, especially like the privacy glass in the rear which is great having small kids.
I have the racing red paint and stone chips are quite a common occurance which is frustrating as I like to keep my cars looking nice.
The quoted mpg in the gumph is a loads of tosh. Normal driving 30mpg but if you go for a b road blast low 20's is more accurate.
Handling is impressive but the feel isn't quite there for me. I have an MG TF (cue head gasket jibes) and when I am going to go for a drive over Exmoor the TF wins hands down. The ST is faster without a doubt but you feel very removed from the road, the electronics are always there tugging you into corners which takes away some of the pleasure of driving.
Don't get me wrong the ST is fantastic and does exactly what I bought it for. Kids love it as well, always wanting to overtake everyone and "go faster daddy".
How reliable do you find the car?
Nothing major just the rubber seals around the rear doors came unstuck. Nothing some glue couldn't sortDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
Wanted a fun car after years of boring diesels. Carries wife, me and three kids in their car seats with calls from the back to go fasterAbout their car
