Economy
Value
Initial feeling was that it was great value. Not so sure now. Interior plastics could also be more robust.
Costs
At the moment, not a good buy! Give me a reliable BMW.

On the road
Driving
Entering it from my 1991 300TE Merc, it is surprisingly good. Seems to wonder a bit at motoway speed but yet to get it checked as it is off road.
Performance
Brisk off the mark, but does not take off like my previous Beemer 530iSE.

Living with it
Reliability
Rear differential is broken. Liittle thing costs almost £2000+VAT. One wonders what other things cost to replace. Car does not always start first time. To get it checked if car ever gets back on road. BMW please make a reliable 7 seater, please!
Image
Can live with it. New shape has better style but cannot afford it yet. Could benefit from some tuning sportier, lower suspension, cool 18in alloys with 235s… dream on!
Comfort
Kids love it, wife loves it. What more does a man want? Could do with a bit more boot space. Long wheelbase please, Ford.

Security and Service
Security
Okay so far. No attempts. Alarm lights on door is a reasonable deterrent.
Service
Ford head office, Essex, and Customer Relationship Centre would not help me acquire the rear differential at a reduced cost. Ghia X 4x4 is still off road. BMW does reduce cost of parts and servicing for vehicles over 4 years. Long live BMW!
