Honestly I couldn’t have gotten a poorer version, mine was the edge with around 300k miles when I bought it although I didn’t know this as it was clocked. It still served me fine although it gave me a few headaches in the first few weeks getting used to the very high mileage gearbox that shifted harshly into third gear and would put the car into limp mode on long journeys. Otherwise it’s the best car I’ve ever owned in seconds you could turn it from and move to a van and back again! Next car is going to be another but with lower mileage and higher spec now they have depreciated some more and I know what to look for.
How reliable do you find the car?
Bought a clocked ex-taxi but for a bargain price at the time without any real knowledge on what to look for. Definitely wouldn’t have bought it otherwise. The Gearbox shifted hard into 3rd and sometimes it went into limp mode due to gearbox on long trips especially in hot weather but just using a £5 obd2 scanner and clearing faults always worked even if sometimes you had to clear it every few miles but after one to three clears it wouldn’t do it again for a long long time but this only happened on long trips. Otherwise it was absolutely faultless considering it would have done around 300k miles when I first bought it and I had no other mechanical faults at all!Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Very comfortable on long journeys even in the poor spec mine was in. The seats all folded down allowed me to take large sized 600cc motorbikes in the back! Every time I went to pick something up people would say they expected a van to come but my galaxy was just as good and in just seconds the seats were back up and ready to go!About their car
