Ford Granada Estate 2.9i Scorpio 5d Auto (1993/K) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Used good cars can be bought reasonably cheaply.
Costs
Parts are cheap to buy if you can find a car parts shop that can obtain all the parts ok or if you have a Ford parts supplier within a short drive.

On the road
Driving
Very comfortable car to drive, and very smooth.
Performance
A fast car on the motorway. Plenty of top end power.
-
Living with it
Reliability
As they get older the unreliability come fast and begins to cost serious money on parts. The automatic gearboxes are also a problem with the torque converter oil seals wearing.
Image
A smart car to have when in very good condition, but as they get older they tend to look tatty.
Comfort
Nice comfortable car to drive, with many extras to make while touring.

Security and Service
Security
Unreliable alarm system. Tends to go off in the middle of the night.
Service
Ford needs to look at their parts distribution centres. They are dirty and lack investment and not many of them. Small car spares suppliers now have trouble getting Ford parts.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Good engine but management system has had expensive problems.
Other
Unreliable security system and many design faults. Do not replace heater matrix unless you know what you are doing. You have to remove entire dashboard for £40.00 part.
