Ford Granada Hatchback 2.4i Ghia 5d Auto (1999/S) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Bought for £1695. Very tidy, but no-one wants them now.
Costs
Fuel, fuel, fuel. Otherwise, a doddle to service + cheap.
-
On the road
Driving
Not exactly a rollerskate, but efficient and comfy.
Performance
For the petrol, not a tarmac-wrinkler. Cruises at 90 easily, though.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Squeaks, rattles and trim falls off. It&'s 15 years old, though and has cost me little.
Image
A Ford Grandada. Surely enough said?
Comfort
The best feature. A 100mph living room.
-
Security and Service
Security
A moderately advanced key for an 80s car. Must take 10s to break in.
Service
Have always used independent garages for servicing.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Major components understressed and unburstable. Some coolant loss.
Other
Sunroof leaks, petrol guage now unreliable. Minor niggles.
