In their own words
As foster carers and grandparents we needed a car that had at least seven seats and one that did not look like a minibus. The diesel ford c-max fit the bill perfectly. while its not a huge engine and is not going to win many races it suited our needs. to hold seven passengers, three adults and four children ranging in age from two to eight. there is not much luggage room left so we needed a roof box. we found roof bars online at quite a reasonable price and as we already had a roof box that did the job for our annual trip to wales. the fully loaded car undertook the 300 mile drive which included motorway and the hill roads of wales with comfort. A full tank (44lt) of diesel lasted us most of the 1200 mile week trip having to fill up an extra £20 for the journey back. the sat nav and apple CarPlay are lovely and easy to use. i missed the cruise control due to a mistake by the salesman at ford and find that an inconvenience. but they gave me two years free servicing which didn't really make up for it. the beauty of the seats is that you can have a four, five, six and seven seat configuration. in all but the seven you get to leave the middle seat folded which leaves a handy passage in the back. the ford blue paint is a lovely colour. the front and rear fog lights come in handy in some of the weather we have been experiencing. the boot space is spacious we have goats, chickens and guinea pigs so nipping to the farm shop means we can buy all the feed we need. i have even had straw and hay bales in the back. shopping is easy with the boot being just the right height and no lip to manoeuvre. had to have rear wheel bearings replaced in the third year but that is only because we think due to the weight we tend to put in the back.
