Ford Mondeo Estate 1993
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

    Excellent value for money!

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Consumption 30mpg. Depreciation continues to slide, but a good independent garage keeps servicing costs down. Some interior trim parts prices are astronomical, though.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Comfy, roomy and airy to sit in. Great handling, too.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Auto box not bad at all, except for motorway overtaking - rather ponderous unless you're happy to use kickdown, but then the engine becomes raucous.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Overall very good - see below.

    Image

    5 out of 5 5.0

Good looking, muscular, sleek, swift, sporty - and that's just the driver! ;-)

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent, though massive boot means rear legroom is unacceptably compromised. Back can accomodate three adults, though preferably ones with little legs!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Difficult to judge - nobody's had a go at mine. Alarm activation/deactivation could do with audible verification, though.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Ford dealers need to do better. Better off with a good independent.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Other
