Ford Mondeo Estate 2.5 V6 Ghia X 5d (96) (2000/V) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Prices of older Mondeo's appear to be plummeting now that the MK3 is here, so you can get a lot of car for not much cash!
Costs
Fuel consumption on the V6 has the potential to be reasonable, but also the consumption can be devastating if all the horses are let loose - even with the manual box.

On the road
Driving
Effortless performance and very smooth engine (compared with harsh 4 cylinder models). Handling is typical Mondeo, in other words, pretty much flawless. Driving position is good and all controls are easy to handle.
Performance
Brisk, but it's carrying a lot of weight. Cruising is effortless with plenty in reserve on the motorway.

Living with it
Reliability
So far so good, but I expect the electrics to fail in typical Ford style!
Image
It's a Mondeo innit? you don't buy Mondeo's for the image!
Comfort
I tend to like a firm ride anyway, so this car is good. Seats are comfy and have a good range of movement. Adjustable wheel is also a great bonus.
