-
Economy
Value
Loads about, so prices are cheap. Lots of car for the money.
Costs
Good fuel consumption. Parts can be expensive, but with plenty now appearing in scrapyards, second hand parts are readily available.
-
On the road
Driving
Good cornering ability for a large car. Suffers from understear (front drift) when pushing hard into corners.
Performance
Capable of 100+ on motorways, but lacking low end power.
-
Living with it
Reliability
No major problems. Starter motors are common fail points on this model.
Image
K, L and some M plates have too much black plasitc around the car that dates it. So many about that it's not distinctive.
Comfort
LX spec has comfy seats that are well supported and near perfect dash layout with good dash display.
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm and Immobiliser are good, but early models have reliability problems - check clock LED flashes when car is locked from outside.
Service
Poor dealer service (although probably just local branch). Parts are easy to locate, but far too expensive when buying new.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Nothing major. Coolant bottle caps can fail and sparkplug leads don't last as long as other cars.
Other
Alarm and double-locking problems (easily rectified).
