Economy
Value
Prices fallen through the floor. Bought at 4 years old for £3500 with 60,000 miles and full service. Had just had 4 new tyres and cambelt change! Be very choosy, buy with full service etc.
Costs
39mpg driving from Winchester to Bournemouth (very carefully, doubt you would get 40mpg ever). 37mpg on mid length journeys. Even on short, racy runs, never goes below 32-33. Excellent when you consider that it is a largish car.

Driving
Very confident inspiring drive. As an advanced driving instructor, I can vouch that for a rep car this is better than others, obviously excluding genuine sports models.
Performance
Very good handler, especially with factory 205/55/r15. Firm suspension, nice gear change and easy cruising at high speed. Better than Vectra and other reps 1.8's. Puts some 2.0 to shame!

Living with it
Reliability
30,000 hard miles and never let me down!
Image
Actually looks very nice, alloys and metallic paint etc. Would rate 4 stars and I think would be great looking if it wasn't for the fact that they are everywhere.
Comfort
Sometimes can be hardish riding, very slightly down on the Vectra on bumpy back roads for comfort, then again the handling is miles better for it. Supportive comfortable seats.

Security and Service
Security
Have had problems with alarm, however has sensors everywhere - boot, bonnet, doors etc. Flashing LED. Good locks. Could do with a locking glovebox though!
Service
Service is cheap, but don't go to Ford dealers. These are about the most common models around, parts are common with number of cars. They are so easy to work on and so simplistic that you are wasting money if you go to Ford. Ford are also too expensive.
