Ford Mondeo Hatchback 2.0 Zetec 5d (2000/W) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Excellent specification and space makes it real value for money buy. BUT not if you bought it new. This car has lost 60% of its value in less than two years and 20,000 miles.
Costs
Insurance is reasonable and economy is very good. However, 16" wheels make for expensive tyres.

On the road
Driving
Who would have thought a family saloon could be so much fun!
Performance
This car will outpace some larger engined V6s on the 0-60, but the torque isn't always enough for accelerating up hills.
-
Living with it
Reliability
So far it's been faultless.
Image
In Zetec trim it does look more distinctive than all but the ST24/200. It's still common as muck though.
Comfort
Good seats and lots of goodies like cd player, heated windscreen and air-con make this an easy car to live with.

Security and Service
Security
The passive immobiliser is good, but hardly makes the car unnickable.
Service
No problems recently, but past experience has taught me all I need to know about Ford "customer care".
