Economy
Value
For a car that was £20K new they are dirt cheap. It is truly practical performance motoring.
Costs
Fuel is the biggy. Mine averages 28mpg on long journeys and it plummets if you use the performance. Servicing costs not much different to my Diesel Mondeo.

On the road
Driving
Sporty suspension gives good handling. Ride is firm but never harsh. Always feels well connected to the road.
Performance
Cracking. Lots of power across the rev range, slick gearbox makes accessing it easy. Engine makes a great throaty growl when you put your foot down.

Living with it
Reliability
Mine's only done 38K so it shouldn't have any trouble and it doesn't.
Image
It looks no different to the 1.8 Zetec (it doesn't have the RSAP kit) so it is quite easily mistaken for a boggo one until it accelerates. That said, it is a Mondeo and will never turn many heads.
Comfort
Sports seats up front are fantastic. Ride not as smooth as non sporty Mondeos but not uncomfortable. At motorway cruising speeds engine is almost silent and there is not much wind noise and only minor tyre noise.

Security and Service
Security
Ford Alarm and Immobiliser.
Service
Only used the dealer a couple of times, most of the time they're very helpful. Odd attendants are really unhelpful though.
